artist biography

Wildlife Artist

Nigel was born in Cheshire in 1963 and attended his local school. From a very early age Nigel showed an interest in art and spent considerable time studying the fauna and flora around his home town.

He demonstrated an early ability as an artist with his pencil drawings and slate etchings and by the age of eleven was already selling his work.

Having experimented with many different mediums Nigel now paints mainly in gouache using an airbrush for the background and fine sable brushes for the detail in the foreground. The result is a superb almost three dimensional effect.

Apart from Nigel's secondary school art education his ability is entirely self-taught. His original work is much sought after and is now also available as limited edition fine art prints.
