artist biography

Born and bred in Dundee, Grace worked in a variety of jobs including 15 years as a nurse, before turning her attentions seriously to art.

Grace graduated in Fine Art Print Making in 2000 and subsequently has also been awarded the Angus Council Commission. Having been involved in a number of art projects since graduating, Grace spent a further three years as an art tutor before turning professional in 2008.

Inspired by the colours, textures, patterns and a pure love of Scotland and its natural beauty, Grace tries to capture the ethereal and ever changing light and atmosphere of the landscape.

Grace Cameron paints mainly in acrylics using palette knives, hake brushes and at times just her fingers. Grace tries to bring energy and movement into the work by building up layers of paint that creates a heavily textured surface. Quite often he painting emerges as if by magic.
